New Healthcare Challenges After COVID-19
The coronavirus disease 2019 (or simply Covid-19) pandemic has laid bare many of the structural challenges in the world healthcare system. Although the world cannot be expected to perform at peak levels during infrequent crises, when the tide goes out on the healthcare system, many challenges become more visible and it leads to improve the current good clinical practices (cGCPs).
At least 136 Covid-19 vaccine trials are under development in dozens of countries vying to be the first to find a safe formula, according to data from the World Health Organization. Experts emphasize that more than one could be needed to face the advance of the pandemic worldwide.
Most people worldwide feel insecure to go and obtain an appointment at a healthcare facility due to the risk to get infected with Covid-19 and it is understandable since despite these locations are taking all the preventive actions and protocols, the same nature of human being is avoiding unnecessary risks. A facility that has obtained a healthcare accreditation, plus performing current good clinical practices (cGCPs) may help to avoid these fears and give more confidence on patients who are in the urge to visit a doctor.
How Can You Get Help?
The American Association of Quality Facilities recognizes the big challenge that healthcare organizations face with the Covid-19 crisis.
Our goal is to support healthcare professionals and organizations on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation is changing very fast, and recommendations have changed with similar speed. We also know everyone is facing a deluge of information. Therefore, we are trying to provide only the information that best meets the needs of healthcare workers and leaders. We are willing to help you and obtain a healthcare accreditation for your facility on this critical time and advises in the best current good clinical practices (cGCPs).
We have never dealt with a situation like this before. The Covid-19 outbreak still spread quickly around the world, and everyone is scrambling to catch up. However, that is not an excuse for abandoning safe standards. While healthcare facilities and staff work very hard to catch up with treatment, agencies and accreditation organizations must also work very hard to come up with effective guidance and then figure out how to get it implemented and re-sourced.
Quality assurance accreditation may reduce errors and help healthcare facilities apply the best evidence when making decisions for their patients. This is critically important, even when doing something as routine as a yearly checkup. In the current crisis, the need to have a healthcare accreditation is even greater to provide a safe and effective working environment for hospital staff and patients.
